Roadblocks that hinder us from operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Part 2)
The bible uses a couple of different phrases such as things that grieve the Holy Spirit or things that Quench the Spirit to describe some of these roadblocks.
1 Thessalonians 5:18-20 – “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”
Ephesians 4:29-32 – “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one 7, as God in Christ forgave you."
Knowledge of truth without embracing the foundation of truth on which that knowledge is built can be dangerous!
If we merely gain knowledge of the roadblocks to operating in the gifts God has given us by His Spirit outside of a revelation of the foundations of truth upon which the Spiritual gifts are built it potentially will lead us to arrive at either a place of pride or a place of condemnation when looking at the roadblocks!
